Roots warrior Kelly Brouhaha is all about the “Feelgood” side of life. An award winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with achingly soulful vocals, her uplifting.
Armed with a new single and a launch party at Adelaide Oval this coming February, the award-winning songwriter is excited to show off her all female, 6 piece soul lineup as part of Fringe series #liveon5.
The EP recorded back in October with producer Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch), part crowd-funded - part government grant and featuring some of Australia’s best session musicians (Ali Foster, Jenna Bonavita, Crafty, Tania Savelli and Melanie Watts) is a testament to the local Adelaide songwriter’s impressive vocal range and laid back acoustic soul style.
"The Brouhaha has a gorgeous, powerful, dare-we-say Adele-esque voice" - RIP IT UP
Choosing to pursue music back in 2013 after hearing Clare Bowditch’s “The Winter I Chose Happiness” Album, Brouhaha quit her job, her mortgage and her marriage to create a life doing what she loved.
Fast-forward a few years along with the opportunity to record in Bowditch’s home studio Kel says “Having the opportunity to make my songs come to life in the exact same space with the same production team from the record that inspired me to do something more worthwhile with my life - it really was something else”.
She’ll play two shows with her full 6 piece band at Adelaide Oval as part of #liveon5 for the Adelaide Fringe Festival, February 24th at 5:30pm & February 25th at 7pm.
Tickets via Fringetix.
