Introducing Mellowtone

With so many submissions coming in daily, we try and do get through pretty much all of them. We love nothing more than to look and be inspired by every single creative, talented person from every field that comes our way. Last week we were lucky enough to be introduced to this amazing band Mellowtone and let me tell you, they are all we have been listening to around the office!

Mellowtone's sound ranges from ambient to psychedelic trip hop, influenced by pop, rock and indie. Mellowtone will draw you in with their soft soothing sounds and deep emotional stirrings, that sink in and reach the heart.

These mellow tones are shaped by the strong voice of singer Martina Birbaum. Her vocals are simply breathtaking . Her sound is soothing, melancholy and hits your soul like a freight train, you cannot escape. You will be begging for more as your ears hear the lyrics of songs that are remarkable, making this group truly unique. The exceptional sound of this band is backed by the amazing musicians, Mirco Ackermann (guitar), Ives Schmidt (piano), Matthias Haymoz (bass) and beat huber (drums).

The independent band from fribourg was founded in 2008. Three years later, the debut-album acts of love was published and a first set of concerts was played in Switzerland and Germany. After two singles in 2012 and 2014, the second album Broken Rooms came out in Switzerland in January 2016, UK and Germany releases are planned for this year. Keep an eye out for this band and watch them rise the charts.
